EH Smith Secure Key Supplier Agreement
EH Smith recently reached an agreement to become a key supplier to the Holdfast Consortium. The consortium currently consists of a range of companies including Babcock International, Carillion and Mid Kent College.
This is another major achievement for EH Smith and, although this is the third large scale deal to be finalised in recent months, it’s the first time EH Smith has been involved in a contract of this nature.
The Holdfast Consortium was setup by majority shareholder Babock International with the sole aim of providing the Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME) with the facilities and environment to produce technically skilled, well trained soldiers. The 30 year contract agreed by Holdfast provides training in leadership and management as well as infrastructure and battlefield engineering.
Our deal with Holdfast will initially run for 12 months and will cover the provision of all products that exist under the ‘building materials’ banner. In fact, we have already taken the first order of products to be delivered to a Babcock’s site in Rochester to help train engineers on the building and maintenance of a road network and car park facility. Other planned projects even call for the demolition and rebuilding of a bridge; skills that would have obvious and far reaching benefits in the current war torn areas of the world.
Although this agreement is relatively straightforward from EH Smith’s point of view, it is hoped that the strong mix of expertise and experience that exists within EH Smith will help secure further key supplier agreements in other areas.
